Holidays can be expensive. In fact, let me rephrase that, holidays are very expensive – even the budget ones that we consider cheap can still put a decent dent in our monthly salaries or our savings. So to the people out there who holiday multiple times a year we say “enjoy yourselves!” because the rest of us need to work out what is the best thing to do with our budget and our needs.

We think about the amount of relaxation we get from a holiday and how much it costs us. We look at how stressed we get in the year and decide how many times we need to take a nice, lengthy break from work and our lives back home. The further you go, and the longer you go for, the more you will spend – so a hefty holiday might only happen once a year – but 2 or 3 small ones could well be in line for most of us.
